Scouting Ministries

The mission of The United Methodist Church is to reach out to those within the community, receive them as they are, relate them to God, nurture and equip them, and send them back into the community in order to make the community a more loving and just place to live. United Methodist Congregations regard all their members, whatever their ages, as important and deserving of the church’s concern. This means that children and teenagers can be nurtured and equipped along with all other members of the congregation.

A vital part of the nuture and care of young people is scouting ministry. Chartered by Congress in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America emphasizes strong personal values, character, self-worth and usefullness, caring relationships, a desire to learn and productive and creative use of time. The Girl Scouts of the USA, the largest voluntary organization for girls in the world, helps girls grow strong physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Martin FUMC is proud to provide a place for Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Cub Scouts to meet on a weekly basis, as well as sponsoring Boy and Girl Scout Sundays, and supporting young men as they strive to become Eagle Scouts.

If you would like to know more about Scout meeting dates or times at Martin FUMC, please contact the church office (587-2689).
